I remember that long-ago autumn, across
the moonlit sea beneath a midnight sky
when the rightful way of things had faltered and had changed forever.
And far too quickly did judgment rule the mistake made by an unsuspecting
heart
when you sailed into my life like a raging storm ravishing my soul.
It was just madness, wild and savage, which drove us without conscious
thought
to acts of unbridled passion turned icy cold come darkness of winter.
How wonderful, how splendid was my shame of endless lust.
How eager my surrender when the night love demanded all.
How you stripped away all apprehension, exposing the naked truth of
a woman.
Oh, wondrous Pirate, sweet was the pain with which you pierced my heart.
You plundered my innocence then tore my love and all that was me apart.
How long you must have plotted your vengeful scheme against me.
I remember now how your icy, cold, spiteful eyes did gleam.
I was nothing but a pawn that fateful night upon your ship
Wrongfully accused with no chance to guard myself against your contempt.
My heart turned to cold crystal that shattered as you set sail again.
Still, years later, I curse you for stealing all that I was.
Yes, long have I loved you now.
